| This album was a beautiful endeavor to record the Matt Catingib Big Band in an acoustic fashion using old-fashioned techniques and equipement. The idea, inspired by Red Norvo, was difficult so the session was incomplete. Chris Stewart and Matt Catingub had been collaborating on a "Super Sax" - like project using Cannonball Adderley solos instead of Bird solos. They seized the oportunity to complete the project and four of the little big band arrangements were added in. A special point of the recording is that when playing the lead chair, Matt and Chris used Cannonball's very own King Super 20 alto which was owned by Bill Green at the time. | ||
